Athlete Development Squad

Category : News Item 2019

Development of players is a priority for Bowls Alberta. We desire continued success for AB Teams competing at Canadian Championships and we wish to provide a clear pathway for our top athletes to apply and be selected for the Canadian Squad.

Last year Bowls Alberta identified a development squad to participate in the first AB BC Test Match held in May at the Juan de Fuca Club in BC. This year we will build on the successful aspects of that event.

A 2019 Athlete Development Squad Selection policy has been developed and is in the final stages of Board approval. This year there will be an application process that rolls out the 1st of March. A squad will be selected from those that apply. Players will then be invited to participate in the 2019 AB BC Test Match scheduled for May 31 – June 2. Stay tuned for the release of all the information!
