Bowls Alberta is pleased to be able to send our Provincial Head Coach as well as a team manager along with the six youth we will have competing at the Canadian Youth Championship. As we anticipate the need for help with some extra travel arrangements and some special player needs, it was important to send a manager with the team. Bowls AB also complies with the Rule of Two in regards to Responsible Coaching and as such identified a female to accompany the team.
Judy Smith, youth bowls director of Calgary Lawn Bowling Club, has accepted the role and has been endorsed by the BA board. Judy comes with experience in this role having accompanied youth teams for other sports to major sporting events. She’ll be a great ‘extra mom’ to all the players! She will also help develop a Team manager ‘job description’ and recommend a process for selecting a team manager in subsequent years. Thanks, Judy!
