Donations Matched!

Category : News Item 2022

SPAR, the Albert government branch that supports sports, has a Donation Program for all sport associations whereby one can receive a tax receipt for a donation.  For this year they have added a special matching campaign!  Please consider making a donation for sponsorship, to help provide a Singles Championship trophy, to support athlete development of our youth…whatever is dear to your heart. Minimum donation is $50…which doubles!

Please consider if this is the year you can donate and help make a long-term impact for our sport!  It is easy and simple if you follow this link: Sport, physical activity and recreation donation form | Alberta.ca  More information can also be found here.

Thanks, from the Board Directors of Bowls Alberta!

Are you interested in becoming an umpire?  Members that once played very competitively and now enjoy playing our sport for recreation and life-long health and social benefits,  have a great opportunity to give back by becoming an umpire and officiating provincial tournaments!  One can also positively impact their club by having a great understanding of the rules of bowls.  We have an opportunity coming up in Edmonton for you to be trained on June 16 and/or 17 and then going on to get experience officiating with a trained umpire for the Provincial Singles Championships. Contact our Head Umpire Dwayne at umpire@bowlsalberta.com if you are interested and/or would like more information!
