Canadian Indoor Championship comes to a close

Category : News Item 2018

A huge congratulations to the players from BC that swept the medals at the Canadian Indoor Championship held last week at Pacific Indoor Lawn Bowls Club.  Three of our AB players that participated, Jan Robinson, Claire Day and Greg Wilson, have been there several times and they all finished in the middle of the field. Two others, Pauline Wong and Mike O’Reilly were there for the first time and they discovered the challenge and the enjoyment of playing on the indoor carpet.

Thank you to our AB players for toughing it out against the home ‘court’ players and for some great games!  We are proud of your accomplishments.

Category : News Item 2018

On Friday, Oct. 26, with the assistance of a staff member from Bicycle AB, the draw was completed in the Bowls Alberta office. 981 tickets were sold….thank you to Trevor Pohle for organizing this event, to all those that helped sell tickets and of course to all those that purchased a ticket.  A pot of $981 goes to ticket #1582, purchased by Jill Slater.  Jill visited her mom, Gayell Slater, past president of Commonwealth LBC, one day last month when she was given the opportunity to purchase a ticket. With only two toonies on her, she bought two and one was the lucky winner!  Congratulations, Jill.
